Class Experience
This is a tutoring class in Latin designated as private (one learner). This can build onto any of these Latin classes of mine: Intro to Latin for Kids, Latin Level 1 for Kids, Latin Level 2 for Kids, Latin Level 1 and 2, Latin Level 3 for Kids, or Latin Level 4 for Kids. The parent(s) and I will arrange for mutually convenient days and times for class meetings. The family will access the class via a private section here on Outschool.
In this highly interactive class that continues from one of the classes above, the student will receive one-on-one instruction on how to speak ("classical" pronunciation) and write the ancient language of Latin. Through lively discussions, vocabulary lists or flashcards (which I will provide), visuals, optional note taking, and imitating my speaking, the learner will progress according to readiness and interest.
I will provide printable material consisting of vocabulary and/or flashcards.

Self-taught in Latin, I taught beginning elementary school Latin as part of my teaching career. I also created and taught a private extracurricular program in Latin and Latin roots for elementary school-ages students. I enjoy instilling self-confidence and motivation in students to learn unfamiliar material in ways that are relevant to their familiar, everyday lives. This involves a combination of discovery, discussion, and practice, with an age-appropriate sense of humor.
