Class experience

This class is taught in English.
In this Zumba Kids class students will:
-Improve body awareness and coordination
-Increase flexibility
-Strengthen gross motor skills
-Increase endurance
-Challenge working memory
-Understand and recall the basic benefits of exercise
-Demonstrate the ability to monitor their own bodies (ex: check their heartrate, pay attention to their breathing, notice changes in body temperature)
I am a Licensed Zumba, Zumba Kids, and Zumba Kids jr. Instructor and have taught Zumba classes for four years. I am also a NYS certified Early Childhood and Special Education teacher with self-contained classroom experience and general education classroom experience. My self-contained experience is mainly with students with Autism, students with ADHD, and students with speech delays. I have a passion for working in inclusive settings with students who are both neurotypical and neurodiverse.
Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
Our inclusive Zumba Kids class will have no formal assessment.
Grades Offered
Zumba requires:
-Safe footwear to dance, jump, and move in
-A glass of water or water bottle within reach
This Zumba class will incorporate gross-motor movements such as jumping, kicking, and skipping. Students should have appropriate space, a water bottle, and well-fitting sneakers to promote safety and prevent injury.

Parents may want to remain close by to encourage attention and help with any technology issues that might arise (especially during the first class).

If any technological issues arise during class (ex: teacher is inaudible), parents can send me a message in the chat on Zoom and I will do my best to resolve the issue. Also, if your student is joining late--don't worry! It may take a moment to be let in (especially if we are in the middle of a dance), but I will admit you as soon as possible.

If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours.

This Inclusive Zumba class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.
