Inclusive Cartoon Club for Teens and Tweens

In this ongoing club, learners can come together to talk about all things cartoons and the different identities represented in them. Each week I will come prepared with a general theme for the day's discussion and will propose an open-ended discussion question. The class will then function as a Socratic circle--all discussion beyond that point will move fluidly based on the prompt question of the week, but will not really have a set structure. Since this is an ongoing club where students can come to discuss, students will learn how to respect the opinions of others, think critically about representation in animation, and socialize with their peers while talking about their special interests.
Students may talk about shows that occasionally highlight fantasy violence or thematic elements including race and gender.
