I am a certified K-12 teacher with nearly 10 years of teaching experience. I have been solving the Rubik's cube for over 10 years and have taught it to many of my students in the past.
Learners will be encouraged to practice outside of class for at least 30 minutes between each session.
Learners will need a standard 3x3 cube. Rubik's brand cubes can be found at local toy stores or big box retailers, or speed cubes can be purchased at specialty stores or online. In my experience, I have found that speed cubes perform much better and are generally less expensive than the official Rubik's brand cubes, however, either will work for this course.
3 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
In our class, we strive to provide an engaging and enriching learning experience for all learners. To enhance the learning process and make it interactive and enjoyable, we will be incorporating various digital tools, including Gimkit, Kahoot, and YouTube. Gimkit and Kahoot are game-based learning platforms that we will use to reinforce the concepts taught in class. These interactive games not only help solidify understanding but also make the learning experience fun and interactive for the learners. YouTube will be used as a supplementary resource to enrich the class content. We will occasionally show videos that are relevant to the topics we are covering. These videos are carefully selected to support the curriculum and provide visual aids to enhance learning.
