Creativity!
I love cooking and baking! I have been doing both for over 15 years. I started out helping my mom and dad make meals. My sister and I used to have cooking shows and pretended to have our own restaurant. Currently, I am a mom of 2 boys and am always making something in the kitchen. Like all kids, they go through picky stages and I have to get creative. I love experimenting with new recipes and baked goods. I have a lifestyle blog where I occasionally release recipes, as well.
I can't wait to bake and decorate sugar cookies with you!

Ingredients:
1 Cup unsalted butter
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups all purpose flour

Decorating ingredients (this is open to how you want to decorate. I want the students to get their creative juices flowing):
-Frosting or icing (I’ll be using vanilla frosting)
-optional- food coloring
-Sprinkles or candies

Utensils and bakeware:
-Oven
-Cookie sheet
-Spray for cookie sheet, if needed
-2 mixing bowls* (one for dry ingredients and one for wet ingredients)
-Spatula or spoon
-Cookie cutters or a knife to cut out shapes

*I will be using a Kitchen Aid so if you have one or an electric mixer, you are more than welcome to use it but it is not required. Your hands and a spoon work just as well!
This is a hands on baking class so your child will be using the oven. Please make sure your student is aware of how to use an oven or you are around to supervise if they do not.
