STUDENTS DO NOT NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE!In this course, we will be learning about improvisational acting! We will be working on several exercises. Such as first line last line, character A character B, Taxi, Three words, and more! These games will allow students to collaborate and learn from one another. Additionally, the practice of improvisational acting can be a very entertaining confidence booster! Students can learn how to think on their feet and be less fearful of conversational and public speaking. They can have no previous experience and still have a good time. Have a student invested in the theatre? This is for them. I will lead the exercises and guide students by providing feedback and tips to improve their technique. This course is essentially for fun and learning; not for perfection. We will be targeting different games based on student interest which can vary from group to group! Expect a lively atmosphere and creativity flying through the course.
Learning Goals
Students will increase their confidence and improve their acting skills as well as ability to think on the spot (though results may need multiple courses, it depends on the student).
