During this class, learners will learn to build an improvised story. Improvisation techniques will be taught to assist learners in activating their imaginations to generate new ideas. Together we will collect suggestions for the five basic story elements: characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. To assist in prompting creative thought patterns, learners will answer questions such as: Who did the rabbit see? What should the rabbit eat? When did the rabbit eat the carrots? Where should the rabbit hop to next? For mature learners, less guidance is provided to allow full stimulation of the mind and imagination. Learners will be chosen one by one to add an element into the story. As the teacher, I will facilitate the generation of ideas, keep the creativity organized, and ensure that all learners feel their contributions are valued. Each learner will be praised for their efforts to add on to the story. No idea or suggestion is inadequate. With improvisation, we can use each and every idea to create an amazing story time! I will provide positive reinforcements to inspire learners to continue to be bold and confident in their voices. This class involves full engagement. Learners will embody the essence of the characters and follow me in acting out the scenes of the story. Learners will be encouraged to participate and also honored if their wish is to only observe. There is no prior knowledge needed to participate in this class. Learners who enjoy story time, using their imagination to create entertainment, or performance will have a joyous experience. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi There!
My name is Ms. Frannie. I am so excited to meet you soon! I am a professional actor who loves to tell stories created with my imagination. I enjoy hearing about what it is like to be you! In my free time, I practice yoga and meditation.
I have my MFA in Performing Arts. I decided to study further to create an abundance of knowledge within myself to give away to my students. Along with performance studies, I also teach yoga! I have received specific training to integrate yoga philosophy with children and teens. It brings me gratitude to witness how both of my passions bring joy into the lives of others.
I teach improvisation, acting for the camera, and yoga. I offer each discipline online and in person. I also coach for private auditions and provide audition taping services.
We must continue to encourage freedom of expression and provide creative outlets for developing minds. Improvisation specifically helps teach coping mechanisms for anxiety and forge confidence. You will find many of my classes center around improvisation to create a safe space for young minds to be free. If you would like a more concrete explanation of the benefits of improvisation, visit Psychology Todays' article: "Can Improv Treat Social Anxiety."
Thank you for stopping by and I am excited to see new learners soon!
