The Hochman method - also known as The Writing Revolution - teaches students of all ages to approach their writing from a sentence-level, and building up sentences to form well-written and well-structured paragraphs. The correct structure of sentences - from simple sentences to complex compound sentences - will be taught and developed in an age-appropriate and engaging way. Students can improve their writing from any age and stage of learning using the Hochman method, as the techniques are applicable to any piece of writing. In this class, the young students will also learn the important skills of summarising what they have read, how to plan a response sentence, and how to pull the most important information from a piece of text. Learners will take part in fun quizzes, reading short extracts (both fiction and non-fiction) and take part in lots of discussion. Your little learner will improve their writing and comprehension skills throughout this course, and will leave with the confidence to answer questions both verbally and in written form. Lessons will be taught using powerpoint presentations, so all learners can see the virtual "board" and share in their learning experience. We will be covering a variety of topics as a content foundation with which to build upon. Topics will be on a range of subjects, from History and Geography, Music and Art, to Literature and Science. Whether we are looking at a recipe for homemade slime, or reading about the pyramids in Egypt, your learner will be confident in writing about the subject, using correct sentence structures, and expressing their thoughts in written form.

I'm a qualified teacher, experienced in teaching English, History, Music, and Art. I home educated my two children, who are now at university, and I have taught in mainstream schools, and in Special-Ed schools.
I have also taught piano, guitar, singing, and music theory, taking students through grade examinations.
I am experienced in teaching the British GCSEs, and through home-schooling, I taught my own children using American curriculum. I teach Language Arts, English Literature and Language, Creative Writing, Poetry - both writing, and reading, and many other fantastic and interesting topics.
I teach writing skills using the Writing Revolution techniques, and have seen students improve their writing skills rapidly using some of the techniques applied.
In addition, I worked as a graphic designer for 10 years, working from home, and offer graphic design and video editing classes, using Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, and soon, Affinity creative suite.
Growth Mindset is very important in my classes, and I encourage it in all learners - Growth Mindset is the belief that even if you can't do something or don't understand something, then you CAN learn how to do it or understand it. Growth Mindset says "I can't do it YET, but I can learn." Learning happens through making mistakes, and then modifying your approach, changing what you do, to improve. I encourage all learners to try, and to feel comfortable making mistakes, because that's how we all learn.
