Class experience

In this multi-day course, students will learn the skills that are necessary for every great public speaker to have, and then they will practice their newfound skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
I am a native English speaker, and I have degrees, post-graduate, and professional qualifications in the following:

- Law - Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Admission as a Lawyer;
- TESOL - I have completed 8 out of 8 units towards the 150-hour qualification. When I receive my official professional certificate from Arizona State University I will update this here, it is expected to take up to 8 weeks to arrive;
- Criminology;
- I.T. Security;
- Applied Linguistics;
- Investigative Services;
- Security, Terrorism and Counterterrorism;
- Nursing Science.

I have also completed the following short courses which are relevant to the classes I teach here:

- How Forensic Science should speak to the Court;
- Introduction to Key Constitutional Concepts and Supreme Court Cases (USA);
- An Introduction to American Law (USA);
- English Common Law: Structure and Principles (UK);
- Economic Growth and Distributive Justice;
- Water Supply and Sanitation Policy in Developing Countries;
- Sustainable Agricultural Land Management;
- Reason and Persuasion: Thinking Through Three Dialogues By Plato;
- Technology and Ethics;
- ADHD: Everyday Strategies for Elementary Students;
- The Clinical Psychology of Children and Young People;
- Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of Child Rearing;
- A Brief History of Humankind;
- Dino 101: Dinosaur Paleobiology;
- Nutrition, Health, and Lifestyle: Issues and Insights;
- Epidemics, Pandemics and Outbreaks (I took this course well before COVID-19);
- COVID Vaccine Ambassador Training: How to Talk to Parents.

I have also been a guest correspondent for the Asia-Pacific region on two different radio programs via KDVS, the radio station at the University of California - Davis campus. I have reported and discussed science and politics over the UC Davis airwaves, and these live radio programs are also available as podcasts. I have also co-hosted a journalism podcast for several years.

As a lawyer, the deciding factor of a case presented to the Court may not be the evidence, or at least, not just the evidence; it may be how well you speak, and how confident you appear.
This course will teach you how to become a better public speaker if you practice the skills that you learn here in your daily life.
