Being a good actor isn't just reading lines, its being able to think on your feet. Improv teaches just that. Every class students will warm-up with games like zip-zap-zop, tongue-twisters, and whoosh! to get them feeling silly and ready to participate in improv. We will learn the basics of "yes, and" technique and play games like One Word Story and Fast Forward, Rewind. Students will be encouraged to use their imaginations and work together to create fun scenes. No previous experience is needed for this class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University Of Northern Colorado
Hello everyone! My name is Selena Tibert and I live in New York City where I work as a theatre artist, musician and nanny.
I teach classes about various topics in music and theatre such as: guitar technique, piano technique, musical theatre, songwriting, acting classes and more!
I have been working with kids for a long time and I love seeing their faces light up with joy when they learn something new and exciting. As a teacher I strive to instill a sense of wonder and fun when it comes to theatre and music. Education should be universal, so I make sure to try multiple approaches to give each child the same opportunity to grow! Along with teaching technique, I love to encourage creativity so everyone can learn from each other and create together!
Something fun about me: I grew up near the ocean, where I saw many orca whales and porpoise's on a daily basis!
