Class Experience

The goals of this class are to have an increased sense of self-esteem, listening and communication, creative problem solving, teamwork, and trust. The earlier one learns improv, the more beneficial it is! Improv molds great speakers and confident leaders, who more than anything can work with others and not be afraid to make a mistake.
I have 17 years experience performing improv comedy, and I teach it to students of all ages. I'm a main-company member at ComedySportz Los Angeles (LA's longest running show,) and have performed on every stage in LA. I've performed with members of Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, and more! The most valuable part of improv is the skill of learning to believe in yourself, which is much easier said than done. My goal as a teacher is to help ignite that belief in all my students, because their voices and ideas matter, especially in the art form where you can do anything.
Progress will be based on how much participation is being had. This is a very low-stakes class, there are no letter grades but all personalized coaching to your child's needs. This class can be taken over and over again and it will never be the same, but I may suggest joining future 90 minute classes with other students if you are comfortable improvising with more people.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
