In this three-session course, students will learn how to produce better-than-basic YouTube videos with iMovie's editing options such as color adjustments, picture-in-picture keyframes, audio layering, clip filters, transitions, animated text and images using Keynote, and more. Take your movie-making and YouTube videos to the next level! The class will be hands-on, with live demonstration and then time for students to work with the tools themselves. At the end of three sessions, students will have demonstrated and applied the skills learned in the course to their own videos, including audio layers, a polished, professional-looking title created in Keynote, and demonstrated thoughtful use of transitions and color enhancements.
I have been teaching iMovie for over ten years, and my middle school students frequently win local and state-wide film competitions, largely attributed to their skillful use of many of iMovie's tools that take their student films to much more mature, advanced levels that rival their peers.

iMovie (laptop/desktop version) Keynote (free program installed on all Mac laptops/desktops)
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
iMovie and Keynote for laptop/desktop In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses YouTube Free Audio, Freesound.org, Soundjay.com, and Pixabay.
