Immersion Mandarin Chinese: Step by Step Draw Doodles: Kitten/Kittens & Cat/Cats
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, we will draw doodles of cats. This is a step by step drawing class. We will have fun doodling while making sure everyone is able to follow along and complete each step. If time allows, we will color and share our master pieces. As we color, learners will get to talk, chat, socialize, and play games. If your learner would prefer to quietly participate and listen, that is okay too. This is a safe and welcoming environment. No drawing experience necessary. Learners should be comfortable in an environment where only Mandarin Chinese is spoken. Class structure: 1. Introduction 2. Step by step drawing / doodle 3. Color and chat 4. Share art work

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm currently on a teaching break - not sure if and when I'll return. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Classes I teach:
Immersion Mandarin Chinese
Languages spoken:
English and Mandarin Chinese.
I am natively fluent in both as I grew up in Canada and Taiwan. Having attended several different local and international education systems, I understand what it's like being a third culture kid. I know pīnyīn 拼音, zhùyīn 注音, simplified, and traditional characters. I speak and read Mandarin and English everyday, so I continue to be well-versed in both languages. I also know Taiwanese.
My favorite Chinese book series is "三体". For English, I enjoy reading "Life of Pi".
Teaching experience:
I have over 10 years of experience working with children and young adults in Taiwan and Canada. I've taught Chinese, swimming, gymnastics, visual arts, research, and EAL/ESL. I've been a Camp Counselor with Camp Adventure at University of Toledo and a Teaching Assistant at a Canadian Montessori School.
Degree & certificates:
I am a licensed health care professional and a TESOL certified ESL instructor. I graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor in Medical Radiation Sciences (with courses in math, biology, human anatomy, psychology, and radiation physics). I have AP Diplomas and IB Certificates. Currently, I am transitioning into UX/UI Design.
Teaching personality:
Friendly, lively, and energetic. I enjoy having fun and building relationships with my learners and parents.
Teaching style:
Student-centred and interactive: My classes are mostly restricted to 5 learners so to focus on student output and engagement. I will ask questions to promote knowledge association/assimilation, critical thinking, and creativity.
Teaching philosophy:
Reliable, transparent, and dedicated: I will respond to messages within 48 hours. I am always opened to feedback and suggestions to better your learners' experiences. My classes will always start on time. I will provide refund per Outschool's Happy Policy.
Class Schedule & Time Zone:
Usually Friday-Sunday evening ET
AP/IB Education Background:
For high school, I attended an international school overseas based on the American curriculum. I have AP Diploma and IB Certificates in the following courses: AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Physics, IB English, IB Psychology 1&2, and IB Economics.
Fun facts:
I enjoy making dumplings, fostering dogs, and building backyard igloos. I am ambidextrous which means I can use both hands to do things. So, don't be surprised when I start using both hands to draw during an art class!
