I am thrilled to be offering this one-time class for young students interested in trying out their skill at the piano. This is a follow-up class to “I’m Not Too Young To Play The Piano”. Some of the skills from that class will be quickly reviewed before we move to the new skills of learning new songs. Even though students may not have taken the previous class, they will easily be able to be successful in this follow-up class. Students will review high and low sounds, loud and soft sounds,...
The students will be able to show others high and low notes on the piano, loud notes and soft notes, correct posture and and be able to play them with the left hand and the right hand (at different times) .
I am a retired public school music teacher. I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a Bachelors of Music Education. I have taught music to all grades in the public school system, but spent most of time in elementary and middle school music. I have taught private piano lessons for many years in my home to all ages, ranging from 5 years old to adults. I have taught online for more than 5 years and enjoy this a great deal! I am also certified in Reading and ESL and enjoy working with all ages of students.
No homework outside of class will be assigned. I would like to encourage them to review what they have learned by practicing the class handouts that will be emailed before class.

Student will be informally assessed throughout the lesson by watching for correct posture and hand position, as well as question and answer opportunities.
