Description
Class Experience
Learners will recognize the pattern of the black keys on the piano. Each child will learn the solfege hand signs and syllables for Do, Re, Mi, Sol, and La and use them to sing a simple melody. Students will have the opportunity to learn to play up to four songs on the piano through in-class instruction and at-home videos shared with the class. They will also be familiar with nature improvisation on the black keys and Camile Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals".
Learners will need access to a piano or keyboard, a small stuffed animal, and printed copies of the "Star Songs" and "Star Song Cards" provided after the first class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will listen to "Carnival of the Animals" by Camile Saint-Saëns and use materials from Colourful Keys' Mini-Musicians One course.
