Class Experience
Does your child need help with a piece of creative writing? Their stand-up act? Their monologue choice? A school assignment they can't crack?! I am here to help. They will receive a 60 minute coaching session where I will help them with their specific need. When you sign up for this class, I will ask about your specific needs. Then, upon the class beginning, the student and I will diagnose the problem and how to fix it. We will then launch into working on the issue as a team, in order...
Students will improve their skills and have a better grasp on tasks to solve their specific writing or performance issues. This will cover multiple aspects of the Language and Literacy components of the Common Core Curriculum.
I am a professional comedian (ComedySportz Jersey Shore) and Creative Writer (Toy Museum of New York). I am also an early childhood educator with 10 years of teaching and 5 years of administration experience. I also have professional development in social emotional development from Harvard.
No homework will be assigned unless the student needs more than one session of coaching. However, if the child has homework from school, I welcome them to bring it in.
The child must bring something to write with, whether it be a laptop, paper, pen, etc. There will be no homework assigned. However, if the child has homework from school, I welcome them to bring it in.
The student will finish the hour with an informal assessment.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There is no sensitive topics that will be covered in this class. I do ask that, if there is a sensitivity on the child's part, to definitely let me know.
We will use examples of successfully solutions of the child's specific need for this coaching session.
