Class Experience

To help students understand most of the commonly used tools and techniques within Illustrator or another vector graphics program. To give them an understanding of how Illustrator itself works and how the tools and techniques covered can be used on other projects. To also give them an understanding as to what monochromatic colors are and how they affect someone looking at an image. I also want to help students gain confidence within themselves and their talents.
While I’ve only been teaching for the past three years, Audio and Film Production at the high school level, I’ve been involved in the industry, professionally, for thirty years.

My journey in working with Illustrator began almost twenty years ago by making graphics for video projects and print work, whether they were personal projects or paid gigs. During that time my Illustrator usage has grown into not only doing more graphic work for videos but also more print work, web design and development, t-shirt design, poster design, flyers, a lot of logos, and character design for a tons of animations.
None. YAY! All the work will be done in class. Some students may wish to continue adding details to their project though.
 1 file available upon enrollment
* They’ll need access to Adobe Illustrator or another program that works with vector graphics such as CoralDraw. * A photo to turn into vector art. * The photo will need to be on the computer they're using so they can use it as a reference during the project. A .jpg or .png file will work best for this project.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will provide a Handy Handout for students to download.

About Me

Yo, yo, yo, yo!!! My name is Matthew Stanley, or Mr. Stanley, Stanley, and Matty Stanz. Those last three are what my students have called me over the past three years.

Ya see, three years ago is when I decided to start teaching. I got that...
