Your child will create their own unique waterfall landscape acrylic painting using variations of brush strokes, layering, and color mixing techniques.
Class experience
Let’s imagine we have taken a hike to the base of a waterfall. We will create a tranquil scene while learning how to utilize brush strokes to mix colors as we progress through this painting together. We will start by discussing perspective to understand the illusion of space on a 2-dimensional surface. I am a K-12 certified art teacher and have been teaching for 20+ years to a variety of age ranges both in schools and in the private sector.
Painting surface 8” X 10”, 9” X 12”, or 11” X 14” (this can vary with what supplies you have at home): Stretched canvas, canvas board, cardboard, thick paper, recycled materials like the inside of a cereal box, etc. Pencil Acrylic paint - I used white, black, brown, green, blue, and yellow. You may use any combination of colors you wish and we will mix lighter and darker colors as needed. Brushes - a variety of sizes Water Cup Paper Towel A placemat and paint shirt or apron are recommended
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
