Guidance will be provided every step of the project.Class Experience
Each student will choose the type of ocean floor details and what fish or other ocean wildlife they want to include in their painting and start with a quick sketch. We will then mix colors to create a base layer for each section of the painting. Textures and details will be added to personalize the painting and give each creature some character. Different techniques will be introduced to best enhance each student’s painting, especially within the texture of the coral. We will discuss perspective to understand the illusion of space on a 2-dimensional surface. I will walk you through mixing, layering, and blending paints to create the desired effects to personalize your creations. Creativity is encouraged so just because I have a fish in my sample doesn't mean you can't change that. Come to class with an idea and we'll make it happen! *Although it is intended that each learner completes a finished painting in the scheduled 90 minutes, please note that everyone works at different speeds. If more time is needed I encourage learners to spend extra time on it after the session is over. Please don't hesitate to utilize the classroom to message me with any additional questions.
Learning Goals
Students will gain skills in drawing, painting, composition and color mixing along with making choices to enhance their painting with texture and details.
