Class Experience

1. Identify a different color scheme each week, such as primary colors, secondary colors, complimentary colors, warm and cool colors, tints, and shades.
2. Experimentation with the physical paints will guide them to discover how all of the colors work together.
3. How to compose paintings and know what to expect while utilizing their color mixing knowledge.
No homework will be assigned unless they feel they would like to spend more time refining their work.  Outside of class practice is encouraged as practice will always result in skill development.
A Piece of Paper for Experimentation Painting Surface for Finished Work (this can vary with what supplies you have at home): Stretched canvas, canvas board, cardboard, thick paper, recycled materials like the inside of a cereal box, etc. Recommended sizes are 8" X 10", 9" X 12", or 11" X 14" Pencil Eraser Acrylic or Tempera Paint Brushes - a variety of sizes Water Cup Paper Towel Palette - this can be a paper plate, a sheet of wax paper, or an old magazine For easy cleanup, a placemat and apron or paint shirt are encouraged
Guidance will be provided every step of each lesson.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
