Each student will choose a shape or design to create the basis of their artwork. Color theory will be discussed to be able to make good choices for the way the colors will show contrast against each other and mix as it is blending from the center out to the edge. Oil pastel techniques will be taught to get the desired “firework” effect. It’s always fun to experiment! If there is time we will create more than one design in different color combinations and different shapes.
Learning Goals
Students will gain knowledge in design, color theory, and oil pastel techniques.

Two small pieces of paper (one piece of paper split in half is perfect) Oil Pastels Eraser (that you don’t mind getting oil pastels on) Paper Towel *Scissors are optional

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
