US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this one time class, learners will listen as the teacher reads the classic story "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" by Laura Joffe Numeroff. As the teacher reads the story she will ask comprehension and inference questions about the story line. She will also use a story board to show the learners the sequence of events. After the story is read, learners will work to complete basic addition and subtraction equations (0-20) as a class using muffin manipulatives. The muffin manipulatives will help show how we got our answer!
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their reading comprehension skills, as well as, their basic math skills using numbers 0-20.

Supply List
A document including muffin counters to use to help understand the equations will be provided for printing out. This is not required but recommended.

Hello! My name is Tesla. I typically go by Teacher Tesla or Miss Tesla in the classroom. I have my teaching certificate in early childhood education (PreK- 3rd grade) and my Master’s degree in Special Education. I am currently an Intervention Specialist in a local school district. My classes are student centered and I plan lessons that are fun and engaging to the students!
I live in my childhood hometown. I have three dogs- Ruger, Cooper and Kimber and one cat- Mew. I have nieces and nephews that I adore so much and spend a lot of time with! I enjoy being with friends and family and love to learn and have fun!
