In this class, we will write and illustrate a book titled If You Give a Llama a Lollipop. Using printouts or original artwork created by your learner, we will bring the new story to life in a colorful and unique way. Using books like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If you give a Moose a Muffin as inspiration, we will collaborate as a group to fabricate a silly story to parallel these books by Laura Numeroff. As learners create their unique story, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar skills will be practiced and reinforced. The specific writing skills that are practiced may vary based on the direction your young author chooses to take with the story. I will act as a guide and facilitator with your learners as we work together to create this new masterpiece! Learners should be able to read and write at approximately a 2nd grade level or higher to be able to fully enjoy and participate in this class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Jessica Bryant and I teach elementary and middle school math classes in a variety of topics. I am a former STEM enrichment teacher with a current Multiple Subject teaching credential in California with an emphasis in mathematics. I have experience teaching 3rd and 4th grade, as well as middle school home school curriculum in all core subjects. I have tutored elementary to high school aged students in math, improving their understanding and confidence in themselves as a learner. I also am a former competitive gymnast and coached through my college years! I enjoy teaching in a fun, relational, and hands-on way that encourages student involvement in the learning process. I believe building a firm foundation with math concepts creates the confidence a learner needs to continue in their education with success. In my experience, the best way to do this is to have fun while learning! Using a variety of hands-on approaches, I engage the learners in discussion to explore new concepts in a way students can relate. I also teach reading, writing, and grammar skills. I know without impeccable communication skills, students will have a harder time learning nearly any topic! I believe learning should never stop with age, continuing in a life-long journey of growth and exploration that I hope to share with your learner during their time in my classes
