Class Experience
This class continues from part one. Students must have completed part one of this course to enroll or have completed through lesson 14. Students should be familiar with Units I-IV. This includes labeling strong verbs, quality adjectives, -ly words, and who-which clauses. Students should also be familiar with labeling sentence openers and other figures of speech (alliteration, hyperbole, etc.). We will meet 2x each week. In this class students will: -Continue making keyword outlines and narrating a story using their outlines -Continue retelling a story in their own words using their outlines -Continue creating a title for their story -Continue using strong verbs, quality adjectives, and -ly adverbs -Practice writing a story from pictures -Practice writing a report from two source texts -Practice writing a 3 paragraph report -Practice writing a topic sentence and a final clincher sentence -Practice creative writing given a prompt
I am an accredited Institute for Excellence in Writing instructor.
Students will be assigned homework to complete after each class. This class will meet 2x each week and students are expected to complete their homework in between meeting days. Students will turn in their homework by taking a picture and uploading it in the Outschool classroom or by typing it in a Google Doc and sharing the link with me.
Students will need the student book for IEW All Things Fun and Fascinating https://iew.com/shop/products/all-things-fun-fascinating Students will need to be able to turn in assigned homework.

There are no letter grades given for this class. Learners will turn in their homework and I will provide feedback to them. Learner progress is assessed through the completion of assignments and participation in class. Students will earn points for each assignment.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parents may need to help their students turn in the assigned homework.
