I will serve as the editor for student papers. Student essays will be assessed according to the provided checklist. Students earn an A for an accomplished paper and an I for an incomplete paper.Class Experience

Intermediate Level
Students use the Structure and Style writing method as they experience world history through cultural literature and the study of famous people and events. The book covers all nine IEW units. Students should be able to read at a sixth-grade level or higher. Students should understand the eight parts of speech in English Grammar. Students will have homework to turn in. Students must be able to type their assignments using the MLA format. I will edit turned-in assignments and give feedback to learners. Learners must complete assigned homework. This includes completing keyword outlines, writing essays, and reading assigned source texts. Students will have opportunities to present their essays. This is not a graded class. Students work to accomplish each assignment's checklist. Learners will need the student book for Modern World History-Based Writing Lessons: https://iew.com/modern-world-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only Students will complete the entire book in this class. This includes: -making keyword outlines and narrating a story using outlines -writing a paragraph from notes -retelling a story in their own words using outlines -creating a title -writing an essay following a story sequence chart -summarizing multiple references -writing from pictures -practicing inventive writing -writing formal essays and critiques -response to literature essays -using dress-ups, decorations, and sentence openers to create variations in sentences I will teach the concept and model lessons. We will work together in class to brainstorm ideas; students are expected to participate. Students should expect to spend time outside of class completing their assignments.
