Students will improve their understanding of the basic parts of speech, proper punctuation, the indentation of paragraphs, and basic capitalization rules. Students will learn new vocabulary.
I am an accredited IEW instructor.
Students should be correcting sentences in class and rewriting the corrected sentences after each lesson in their notebooks. Some weeks the lesson will be taught and the students will be expected to correct the sentences on their own after class. Homework will not be turned in to me unless the student/parent would like feedback. Students may choose to submit their written work to me at any time if they would like feedback.
Students will need the student book for Fix It! Grammar: The Nose Tree. https://iew.com/shop/products/fix-it-grammar-nose-tree-student-book-1 Students must have access to Nearpod.com Students should have a dictionary or other way of looking up vocabulary words when they are assigned. **Please note that, while not required, it is very helpful if students are able to annotate in class when asked to do so. Chromebooks do not allow this feature. Students using Chromebooks will be asked to participate in the chat or on the mic.***
There are no letter grades given for this course.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
