IEW Fix It! Grammar: Robin Hood (Level 3) Part One

Class
Students correct grammar errors, label parts of speech, and identify clauses in sentences that cumulatively tell a story. Learners practice the structure and style techniques taught by IEW.

Description

Class Experience

In this class, students will:
-review concepts learned in levels one and two
-identify and label the parts of speech
-continue practicing proper structure and punctuation of a sentence
-distinguish main and dependent clauses
-distinguish clauses from phrases
-correctly use homophones
-practice IEW stylistic techniques, including dress-ups and sentence openers
-practice comma rules
-learn new vocabulary
I am an accredited IEW instructor. 
Homework WILL be assigned for this course.  
-Students will need to correctly rewrite the sentences for each lesson.
-Students may be assigned "review" lessons to complete on their own.
Students must have the student book for Fix It! Grammar: Robin Hood. https://iew.com/shop/products/fix-it%E2%84%A2-grammar-level-3-robin-hood-student-book Students will need a dictionary (or a way to define assigned terms). Students must have access to Nearpod.com. This will not be used in every class. I will give students notification before class when they will need to be prepared to use it. **Please note that, while not required, it is very helpful if students can annotate in class when asked to do so. Chromebooks do not allow this feature. Students using Chromebooks will be asked to participate in the chat or on the mic.***

Students are welcome to submit rewritten sentences to me for feedback.

There are no letter grades given for this class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
At times, learners may need help with using a dictionary, correcting sentences, or completing the review lessons.  Learners are welcome to contact me through the class page for help. 

This is a traditional story of Robin Hood, which takes place in the Middle Ages. It includes the bow and arrow and shooting with it.  At times animals and/or people are shot.
