Students will improve their understanding of the basic parts of speech, proper punctuation, the indentation of paragraphs, and basic capitalization rules. Students will practice good handwriting as they rewrite sentences. Students will learn new vocabulary.
I am an accredited IEW instructor.
Homework Offered
Students should label sentences in class and rewrite the corrected sentences after each lesson in their notebooks. Students may submit their written work to me at any time if they want feedback; however, homework to be turned in will not be assigned. Students will complete some review lessons independently.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Students will need the student book for Fix It! Grammar: The Nose Tree. https://iew.com/shop/products/fix-it%E2%84%A2-grammar-level-1-nose-tree-student-book Students will need a dictionary (or a way to define assigned terms). Students must have access to Nearpod.com. This will not be used in every class. It is helpful if students can annotate in class when asked to do so. Students without the annotate feature will be asked to participate in the chat or on the mic.

At times, learners may need help with using a dictionary, correcting sentences, or completing the review lessons. Learners are welcome to contact me through the class page for help. Occasionally Nearpod will be used for review practice and games.
