IEW Fix It! Grammar Level 2 Town Mouse and Country Mouse *Summer*

***This course meets twice weekly for twelve weeks to complete the book. Accelerated-paced courses are ideal for older students or students who enjoy working at a quicker pace.
***Students will have homework.

-This class assumes that students have completed Fix-It! Grammar Level 1 Nose Tree

Fix-It! Grammar Level Two is a fun and engaging way to teach learners English grammar. Students hunt for grammar errors in an ongoing story. They label parts of speech and add correct punctuation. Finally, they rewrite the sentences correctly. 

IEW recommends that all students begin with The Nose Tree. Students who are familiar with the eight parts of speech may enroll.

Town Mouse and Country Mouse is Level Two in the Fix-It series. 

In the Town Mouse and Country Mouse book, students will continue defining parts of speech, practicing capitalization, reviewing end marks, identifying sentence openers and homophones, practicing adverb clauses, comma rules, and more!

Students need a dictionary (or a way to define assigned terms). 

Time in class teaches the new vocabulary, concepts, directions, and reading and correcting the first sentence. I will use slides and other interactive resources to encourage interaction between the students and myself. Students may also volunteer to read sentences aloud.

Students will need their workbooks during class to identify and label the parts of the sentence. Previous lessons are reviewed each week.

Given time, we will complete the remaining sentences together. Students finish any sentences we do not get to during class as homework. Students will complete some review lessons as homework.
