Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework will be assigned, which consists of the remaining corrections, rewriting the passages and defining the vocabulary words. Homework will be assigned over some holiday breaks in order to complete the full 33 week course in 30 weeks.
Assessment
Homework will be corrected each week when submitted through the google classroom.

Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Level 3 Robin Hood refines concepts taught in previous levels and explains additional comma rules, various phrasal/clausal constructions, quotation punctuation, indefinite/demonstrative/reflexive pronouns, and more.

Each week in class we will: 
**Semester one covers lessons 1-15**
1. Learn It! On the first day of the new Week, read through the Learn It section.
Each Learn It covers a concept that the student will practice in future
passages. Instructions for marking and fixing passages are included
in each Learn It.
2. Read It! Read the day’s passage. We will review the bolded vocabulary words each week.  Students are encouraged to maintain a list of vocabulary words and their definitions.
3. Mark It! Mark the passage using the guide at the top of the daily practice page.class. 
4. Fix It! Correct the passage using the guide at the top of the daily practice page.
*We will mark and fix as many passages as we have time for in class each week, sometimes there may be 1-2 passages left to complete for homework.

Homework:  
Rewrite It! After marking, correcting, and discussing the passage with the teacher,
copy the corrected passage on the lines provided or into a separate
notebook.
• Copy the corrected story, not the editing marks.
• Indent and use capital letters properly.
• Copy the corrected punctuation.

Supply List
You need the textbook https://iew.com/shop/products/fix-it-grammar-robin-hood-student-book-2 and should also take the placement test before enrolling to make sure this class is the right level for your child.  http://iew.com/sites/default/files/page/fileattachment/Fix_It_Placement_Test.pdf
They should also have paper/notebook with 4 sections if you have a self-printed text or a 2 section notebook if your text is spiral bound, the last 2 sections are for rewrite and vocabulary.  You will also need a place to store the grammar cards (a zipper pencil pouch or ziploc bag works well).
