In this follow-up to "Having Fun with Colorful Idioms," students will learn a variety of idioms, such as clothing idioms, i.e., "give someone the shirt off your back;" action-verb idioms, i.e., "drive you up the wall;" and body-part idioms, i.e., "have a sweet tooth," just to name a few. Through discussion and games, students will gain a deeper understanding about how idioms are a type of figurative language where the intended meaning of the phrase is different from the literal meaning. Students will apply this knowledge as they create their own short story using these idioms. They will be given an opportunity to share their story.
