This 60 minute class will offer students clarity to help them identify their passions and skills for better self-awareness in considering future goals. We will define and discuss the following categories of skills: MENTAL (analytical and academic), PHYSICAL (athletic and hands-on), INTERPERSONAL (communication and leadership), and CHARACTER (responsibility, trustworthiness, etc). Self knowledge is a powerful tool in equipping youth to strive toward achieving their maximum potential in all areas of life. Students will make connections between hobbies and career choices; between favorite school subjects and future goals; between their personality traits and later success. We will have fun discussion while practicing critical thinking!

Hello students and parents! I'm so eager to meet you and learn together about things that really matter. Welcome to my virtual classroom!
I've been a certified teacher for 29 years, specializing in working with middle and high school students. I've been privileged to work with children and youth in the public school, virtual school, and homeschool co-op settings, as well as in the athletic arena. I've worked closely with countless of traditional learners, those with learning differences, and students needing to be challenged in unique ways. Teaching is my passion. I believe in being a lifelong learner, and therefore am always researching meaningful and practical topics, in hopes of sharing my knowledge with youth.
Through the experience of coaching volleyball for a decade, I discovered that while I am a trained teacher, my true calling is to be a coach. I love to COACH my students in the classroom. Having the opportunity to encourage, strengthen, and challenge each student to succeed on their individual path is such an honor and a blessing.
