In this one-time course, children will learn what feelings and emotions are and how to identify them
Class experience
In this one time course, we will focus on identifying feelings and emotions. We will talk about what they are and how there are so many different kinds! I will be using visuals and stuffed animals to explain and give examples of different emotions, and we will be reading two stories: The Color Monster by Anna Llenas and I Was So Mad by Mercer Mayer. I will also include a movement break 15 minutes into the class so students can move around and have some fun. We will finish the course by...
Students will know: 1. We can often tell how a person is feeling by the expression on their face. 2. Everyone feels a range of emotions, and that is a good thing! 3. Positional Concepts (above, below, in front, behind, etc.) 4. The parts of a book (cover, title page, spine, etc.)
I taught this lesson to my in-person preschool class, and I had a very positive response from my students. I also use the tools from this lesson with my own children.
