Class Experience

In this one time course, we will focus on identifying feelings and emotions. We will talk about what they are and how there are so many different kinds! I will be using visuals and stuffed animals to explain and give examples of different emotions, and we will be reading two stories: The Color Monster by Anna Llenas and I Was So Mad by Mercer Mayer.
I will also include a movement break 15 minutes into the class so students can move around and have some fun. We will finish the course by drawing our own color monsters that we can share with each other. My teaching style is warm and personable, but I also have a sense of humor and like to get my students laughing! From my experience as a classroom teacher, I know that laughter helps to keep all different types of learners engaged.I guarantee that in this course, your child will have a smile on their face while learning important concepts along the way. If there are any particular feelings/emotions that you would like your child to learn about, feel free to message me at the beginning of the course and I will make it happen!
Learning Goals
Students will know:
1. We can often tell how a person is feeling by the expression on their face.
2. Everyone feels a range of emotions, and that is a good thing!
3. Positional Concepts (above, below, in front, behind, etc.)
4. The parts of a book (cover, title page, spine, etc.)
