US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Children will embark on a journey to develop both concrete and abstract understandings of the tens numbers (10, 20, 30, etc.) through immersive Montessori methodologies. Using hands-on materials, readily printable at home, I'll guide the children in exploring and matching concrete values to their abstract counterparts, fostering a holistic grasp of numerical concepts. My teaching approach mirrors the warmth, inclusivity, and encouragement synonymous with the Montessori philosophy. Rather than lecturing, I actively engage students in their learning process, empowering them to take ownership of their education. Through hands-on exploration and manipulation, students are encouraged to discover and internalize concepts independently, ensuring a deeper understanding of the lesson. Prior Knowledge: To fully benefit from this class, children should already be proficient in identifying numbers and quantities from 1 to 19. It's highly recommended that they have prior exposure to my preceding class, "Numbers 11 to 19 (Colored Beads and Teen Boards) - Montessori Math," to seamlessly transition into this course. Please note: All transfers to another time must be done at least 24 hours before. Please ensure that the class time(s) works with your schedule.
Learning Goals
Children will develop the ability to count by tens and grasp the significance of the tens numbers (10, 20, 30, etc.).
