The last post in the class is titled, "Job Completed!" In this post students will download and print a PDF file which is their Certificate of Completion for successfully completing the course. Students simply need to write in their name and the date on the printed certificate. For a digital alternative, you can use a tool such as Kami, Canva, Adobe, etc. to digitally add the student's name and date and save a soft copy.Class Experience

Hello, and thank you for your interest in Ice Cream Shop Worker Vocational Skills self-paced class! This one-time, asynchronous class (no live Zoom meetings) teaches learners important functional skills they will need to use efficiently on their first job. Students will use their own set of interactive digital lesson slides to consider and practice the following vocational topics: 1. Identifying single item customer orders from a written order 2. Identifying two item customer orders from a written order 3. Ice cream recipe reading comprehension 4. Functional receipt reading comprehension 5. Analyzing and understanding workers' elapsed shift times For each skill set, I provide: 🍦 An interactive Pear Deck lesson for the student to complete 🍦 A discussion question to encourage students to think about the responsibility of having a job At the end of class, the student will be able to download their Certificate of Completion. Pear Deck is an interactive presentation tool that helps teachers create dynamic learning experiences for students. I use Pear Deck for each of the five learning goals for the class. No student account or login is required. Students simply click on a link I provide to complete their lesson.
Pre-Requisites
Students need to be able to have a basic understanding of adding and subtracting time (e.g., there are 2 hours between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM).
