Assignments
1-2 hours per week. Workbook problems or other qualitative and quantitative assignments will be provided to supplement or challenge students based on teacher observations during the lesson.
Grading
The IB has a 1-7 grading that can only be estimated and only after many data points have been provided. When learning topics, students are gauged on their current understandings, but all sub-topics from all units must continue to be assessed at any/every point in time. Each external and internal assessment is weighted differently with each also having a different usage of the qualitative and quantitative IB content.

Class Experience

US Grade 11 - 12
What Will Be Taught?
IB Business Management covers 5 units including:
Unit 1-Introduction to Business
Management
Unit 2-Human Resources
Unit 3-Finance and Accounts
Unit 4-Marketing
Unit 5-Operations Management

Depending on where learners are in their two-year program, sub-units will be retaught, practiced, assessed, and overall assessment preparation will be provided. Every class begins by meeting the learner where they are at and by gauging their current understanding. Individualized instruction including workbook problems will be assigned/provided based on students current academic abilities.

How is this class structured?
Each class will be based on real world examples, workbook problems, individualized answers, writing practice, and presentations provided to supplement the sub-unit of focus within the lesson.

How will you teach?
My teaching style is interactive and student-focused. I’ll use videos, slides, and real-world examples to keep students engaged and help them connect with the material. Students will receive instruction during the lesson through slides, discussions, and games.

Learning Needs
After initial student teacher 1 on 1 meeting, further discussions on scaffolding and individualized presentations or notes will be created and/or utilized.
Parental Guidance
Unit 4-Marketing will involve exploring the ideas of marketing which have led to successful as well as unsavory marketing campaigns with students should be expected to explore and evaluate as needed. Business is a forever changing field and some real world examples can contain sensitive information but if used, will be censored and taught appropriately.

Should be currently enrolled in an IB Business Management course in either year 1 or 2.
Supply List
I will provide slides and guided notes for every unit and their associated sub-sections but these notes should be hand written as the external assessments are also hand written. If you have an accommodation for writing approved by your school, please let me know.
Language of Instruction
English
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
I prefer the IB Business Management 5th Edition by IBDP Press. However, your school provided textbook will work fine as long as I am made aware to what version you are using.
