Class Experience
PLEASE BE AWARE: Class time and length will be changing with the beginning of the school year. Starting August 24, the current section will be meeting for 1 hour and 25 minutes each Tuesday at 1 pm MDT. I have been a certified elementary teacher for over ten years. I have also been exclusively teaching social studies, writing, and reading to upper elementary students for the last three years. I have a passion for these subjects and love sharing these aspects of education with young learners.
Students sometimes run out of time to complete their writing in class. If this is the case, I ask that they finish it and send it to me so that I may provide feedback. Even if they don't intend to continue with the course, I feel that it is important that they get the praise and support that all writers need and deserve for their efforts.
Pencil Paper If anything else is needed, I will message both parents and students prior to class with the necessary attachments.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
As interesting and exhilarating as history is, it does contain some more unpleasant aspects such as slavery, inequality, desperate circumstances, disease, and war. These subjects will not be ignored or glossed over but will be objectively addressed in an age-appropriate manner.

About Me
I love to teach just about any subject, but am particularly strong in the "4 R's" (Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic, and... Research!). My love for reading is what led me to the fascinating stories and events of history that I enjoy researching....
