In this class, students will learn the life skill of strong communication. They will build confidence to stand up for themselves in any social situation. Students will read a story about a boy that is being teased at school, and how he responds to it. They will practice the five methods of responding to teasing and put downs through role play. These methods help children to be strong in themselves, and recognize that words have power. They will leave this class prepared to stand up for themselves, and navigate difficult social situations. Families will receive a poster they can print so students remember how to "swim free" and "not take the hook".
