In this six-week book club, learners will explore not only the book "I Survived the American Revolution, 1776" but also the history surrounding this time in Colonial America.

Join along as we read an exciting tale that features Nathanial Fox as he finds himself in the middle of a battlefield fighting for his life during the Revolutionary War. This class is taught in English.
I have over twenty years of experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!
Homework Offered
Learners will read three-four chapters before class each week. Learners will receive an assignment to complete outside of class. The assignment will include comprehension questions, analysis questions, new vocabulary words, and historical questions. There will also be a section to take notes over the chapters assigned that week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will need to purchase or borrow a copy of "I Survived the American Revolution, 1776" by Lauren Tarshis.
There will be discussions of war and death during the American Revolutionary War. The main character was also abused by his uncle. There will be discussions involving friends of Nate that were enslaved during the Colonial Era. Some students may be sensitive to these topics. Every effort will be made to keep discussions at an age-appropriate level.
