Students will start class by learning about sign language. We will go though the ASL alphabet once with the students mimicking the teachers hand. Then, students will learn how to say "I love you" in sign language. Students will spend most of the class period creating art, which includes tracing and learning how to make hearts.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to say, "I love you," in sign laguage. They will improve tracing, cutting and pasting, and fine motor skills. Students will also learn how to make heart shapes.

Students will need: 2 pieces of colored paper (brown or tan preferred for one of them) Pencil Sharpie or Markers Scissors Glue

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
