I love Cursive Writing; when I was a child I would practice writing all the time. In this class we will begin our Cursive Writing classes with the letters "a, c, d, g, and q"; we will begin with the lower case letters. Students will be given some instruction on how to hold your pencil, how to sit, how to write on the lined paper, and how to position your paper. We will talk about how the letters look and how we form the letters. We will practice on the "shared whiteboard" and then students will be given the opportunity to write on their paper. I like to have fun with my students when I am teaching; so as we learn we will do some fun things together to make the class fun and informative.
Learning Goals
The goal is for students to learn to write the letters "a, c, d, g, and q" correctly.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
I look forward to meeting your child and having lots of fun learning together!
