Description
Class Experience
This class will meet live one time for 30 minutes and is intended for young learners ages 4 to 6 years old. We will create a fun directed drawing together of summer. Directed drawings are step-by-step instructions modeled by the teacher to help learners complete a picture. Before our drawing, we will write one sentence to go with our picture. The sentence will be "I like summer". We will practice finger spacing, penmanship, and ending our sentence with a period. We will then use watercolor...
Students will work to improve their fine motor skills during the directed drawing and their understanding of basic sentence structure.
As a trained and certified elementary school teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, I have great experience teaching the fine motor skills to young learners and teaching basic sentence structure (Uppercase letter, finger spaces, stretch out words phonetically, and end your thought with a period.)
Depending on time, the picture may need to be completed after class.
A one-page sheet will be provided prior to the class. It will need to be printed ON CARDSTOCK and ready to go for class time. The learner will also need a black marker, a paintbrush, watercolor paints, paper towels, and a cup of water. Optional: You may need an old sheet to go under student artwork in case of paint spills. Students may also wear a smock to protect their clothes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Because this class is for young learners, parental guidance is necessary.
