Class Experience
The students will read I Like Myself! by Karen Beaumont. This delightful book start our discussion on a positive note. We will discuss self-love and create a self-love action plan. We will also create a statement of empowerment! I am friendly, patient, and encouraging. I use humor to keep the students comfortable. I have been an English teacher/ Media Specialist for 20 years. I have a Bachelors in English/Secondary Education, a Masters in Educational Administration, and an endorsement in Library Science. I am a master teacher that teaches other teachers to teach. I am also published poet and an executive board member on a local reading council.
1. The students will purchase a copy of Karen Beaumont's I Like Myself!. 2. Students will download and print the worksheet provided. If they are unable to print, they will be given instructions to create the chart on regular paper or computer paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The students will be assessed informally.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
