Class Experience

This class is an introductory course on all things guitar! It is a great way for learners to get acquainted with the instrument prior to taking a longer group class or private lessons. It's a great companion gift for any learner who just got a new guitar for the holidays. This is an interactive semi-private class with no more than 3 students, where learners will receive individualized attention from the instructor. Class will run as follows:

Introduction and meet and greet: We will introduce ourselves. Here students can share some information such as what made them want to play guitar, favorite songs or artists, etc. and show off their new guitars!
Parts of the guitar: We will look at a diagram of an acoustic and electric guitar, name the parts, and talk about the function of each. We will also discuss guitar accessories such as picks, tuners, etc.
Holding the guitar: The instructor will demonstrate the best way to hold a guitar. Students will learn to hold their guitars and picks correctly and learn a little strumming technique.
Tuning: Because this is a small class, students will receive one-to-one instruction on how to tune their guitars and get them ready for lessons!
Learning some chords: We will learn to strum beginner forms of the G and C chords and practice using the pick.
Conclusion: The instructor will share tips on next steps for learning guitar!
