Class Experience
In this class, the learner will listen to the story I Have a Dream by Martin Luther King Jr. Following the story, questions will be asked of the students for comprehension of the story. Historical facts about MLK will be shared with the students to give them a context of his life and what he believed. They will then create a rainbow of their own dreams. Discussion and hands-on activities will be used to engage the learners in the context. Learners will interact with each other through...
Students will understand the impact MLK had on the world and how they can create their own dreams in today's world.

Markers, construction plaper (various colors to make a cloud and a rainbow), scissors.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be assessed on their comprehension via the questions after the story, writing and creativity skills for their rainbow project.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
