25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Gear up for a hands-on, science experiment to find out what will sink or float! We will use water and carefully selected objects by the teacher. Students will be able to use their own objects and water, as well. Each student will have a chance to show a couple objects to the class. This activity not only creates a wonderful, multi-sensory learning opportunity but also a positive social opportunity for learners. In all of my classes I use an "I do, we do, you do" approach. First, I will model for the student. Then, we will practice together. Then, each student will be able to sort their objects onto a printable given by the teacher. I also use a Montessori-inspired style approach in all of my classes. Students will use their senses, practice turn taking, and go at their own pace. I will be able to assess a child's ability during class and modify the learning activity with them, if needed. See you in the science lab! -Teacher Erin
