Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner Level
In this class, students will learn basic knowledge about sleep such as why it is important, how much sleep they need, etc. We will also discuss relaxing/positive activities to do before bed vs things that should be avoided around bedtime. I will teach the kids to use their imaginations to relax through progressive muscle relaxation. We will also discuss and make a "worry trash bag" so that students can "throw away" negative thoughts before bed. As a parent, you will then be able to get a better idea of the things concerning your child and can talk with them about what they "threw away." This will help ease any worries or negative thoughts that are interfering with sleep. There will be ways for students to interact with the presentation including polls and drawing activities.
Learning Goals
-Basic knowledge around good sleep hygiene.
-progressive muscle relaxation for bed time.
-how to "throw away" worries.

Supply List
*A paper sack (lunch size is fine) to make the "trash bag" and whatever decorating supplies your child would like.**

It would be helpful for students to print the progressive muscle relaxation PDF as I there is a video of me demonstrating this during the class.

I am also attaching a copy of the maze. Students do not need to print this, but I am including it incase they would like a hard copy.
