There are some quizzes, open ended questions, and more on Nearpod. I have access to learner responses via Nearpod and will be assessing for understanding.Class Experience
In this course, we will learn what attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder is and ways to manage ADHD symptoms. There will be four lessons, one lesson posted weekly. I'll be teaching the course with short videos done by me, followed by a slide that sums up the content just taught. I will be giving strategies to help manage ADHD symptoms. We are going to discuss how ADHD can affect relationships and emotions. We will also be looking at famous people who had ADHD and will be finding the positives in having ADHD. This portion is like a mini history lesson and my FAVORITE part of the class. Students will learn that having ADHD doesn't have to be negative. Lots of positives can come from having ADHD, especially once you learn to manage it! A note pad and pen is encouraged as you watch the presentations! ***This will be a self paced class, with video recordings created by me. We will NOT be meeting live. The course will be presented on a platform called Nearpod (but don't worry, you don't need an account or to download anything, all you do is click a link!). Each lesson consists of a presentation with embedded videos of myself teaching the course. Each video ranges from 1-5 minutes in length and is followed by a slide which sums up the video. I've found this to be the best way to accommodate ALL students. By the end of the course, you will be ready to take CONTROL of your ADHD! "See" you in class!
Learning Goals
Students will take control of their ADHD by understanding what ADHD is, how it can affect all areas of life, and how to manage the symptoms.
