This is Part 2 to our popular paragraph writing class! Learners continue writing descriptive, narrative, & persuasive paragraphs. They continue structuring paragraphs, use appropriate vocabulary & grammar, & convey their ideas effectively.

ย Week 1Lesson 1Draft an Information ParagraphWrite a topic sentence, 3 supporting details, and a conclusion using the "hamburger method" for crafting an informational paragraph.ย Week 2Lesson 2Write and Publish an Informational ParagraphLearners will learn how to write a complex paragraph, add in transition words, revise/edit their paragraph, and publish/share their informational paragraphs for feedback.ย Week 3Lesson 3Draft an Opinion ParagraphLearners will learn about opinion writing. They will choose a persuasive writing prompt, develop their opinion (thesis,) reasons, examples, and restate their opinion (conclusion) using the OREO method.ย Week 4Lesson 4Write and Publish an Opinion ParagraphLearners will write their opinion paragraph, add in transition words, revise/edit their paragraph, and then publish/share for feedback.ย Week 5Lesson 5Draft a Compare/Contrast ParagraphLearners will read and learn about compare/contrast paragraphs. They will decide on two topics to compare/contrast. They will begin filling out a Venn Diagram with similarities and differences of their two topics.ย Week 6Lesson 6Write and Publish a Compare/Contrast ParagraphLearners will write their compare/contrast paragraph, add in specific transition words, revise/edit, and then publish/share their paragraph for feedback.ย Week 7Lesson 7Draft a Short Story Realistic NarrativeLearners will study what narrative writing is and the elements in narrative writing. They will then complete a graphic organizer "story map" with characters, setting, important events, problem, and solution.ย Week 8Lesson 8Write and Publish a Short Story Realistic NarrativeLearners will write their narrative, learn when to start new paragraphs, how to add in dialogue, and write their final copy for feedback.
- In this class learners continue to write different types of paragraphs, such as descriptive, narrative, and persuasive. They learn how to structure a paragraph, use appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and convey their ideas effectively.

I have strict hiring standards and strive to only hire teachers I would feel comfortable teaching my own children on Outschool.

Learners need to first complete our "I Can Write Powerful Paragraphs" part 1 class before joining this class. See link in class description. Learners should be able to write complete sentences.
