Class Experience
The student will use explicit phonics skills and a variety of comprehension strategies while becoming a fluent reader.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher with many years of experience with teaching explicit phonics, reading, and guided reading. I have been teaching phonics and reading for approximately 18 years. While teaching these focus areas, I have participated in many researched based training which have given me a great foundation to effectively instruct students from day to day.
There will not be any homework.
The student may need a white board and a marker.
Assessment will be ongoing throughout the class. The teacher will observe the student while reading and answering questions.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
